Palsama Science Degree College was established in the year 1995. But it started functioning from the academic year 2000 – 01. It is one of the premier higher education colleges in science in Deogarh district of Odisha. Establishment of the college is a successful effort by Sri Kumuda Bandhu Garnayak. His vision and care made this college a pioneer for the educationally and economically backward areas of the district Deogarh. Higher education in science has been made possible by this college. At present the college has 7 departments and 23 staff members including teaching and non-teaching staff. The college provides value added education to more than 190 students. The college provides Honours courses in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. It has excellent laboratory facilities.
